if we have never met before, here is a little bit about me…
I believe therapy work begins with a genuine human connection.
Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, which is why creating a space where you feel comfortable, respected, and accepted is so important to me. You don't need to have the right words or all the answers before coming to therapy. My role is to meet you where you are, listen with curiosity, and work alongside you as we make sense of whatever has brought you here.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that our experiences shape the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. Rather than focusing on "what's wrong," I'm interested in understanding your experiences, recognizing your strengths, and helping you move toward the life you want to build.
My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by a longstanding interest in mental health, human development, and the ways our experiences influence who we are. Before completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Childhood and Youth Studies with a minor in Psychology, followed by a Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health. Each step has deepened my understanding of people across the lifespan and continues to inform the way I approach therapy today.
Alongside my education, I have the privilege of supporting individuals in a variety of settings. My clinical practicum at the Sexual Assault Centre Kingston has allowed me to work alongside survivors of sexual violence, while my experience in youth justice involves supporting young people navigating complex emotional, behavioural, and life challenges. These experiences reinforce something I carry into every session: behaviour always has context, and every person's story deserves to be met with empathy, kindness, and patience.
Outside of my practice, you will find me spending time with my family, pushing myself physically and mentally in Pilates & spin classes, or attending live music festivals. These moments help me stay grounded and remind me of the importance of finding balance and connection in everyday life, and that the things that help us feel most like ourselves deserve to be protected.
Finding the right therapist is a personal decision, and I know how important it is to work with someone you feel comfortable with. If you've found your way here, I hope this has given you a sense of who I am before we meet, and, whenever you're ready, I'd be honoured to go on this adventure with you.
